How we stay in touch
We value the relationship between home and school very highly and believe that excellence in communication makes for a happy and productive learning environment for your daughter. Headington Rye Oxford is a busy school and we are keen to ensure you receive all the information you need to keep you up to date with school life. Communications is not just about us giving you information – please do let us know if anything is concerning you or your daughter, however trivial it may seem.
Your daughter’s tutor should be your first port of call and you will receive their contact details when your daughter is allocated a form. You can also call the School on 01865 759100 and our reception team will do their best to help. Our communications to you are reviewed every year and you will be notified of any changes in the way we communicate with you. Below are some of the ways in which you can keep up to date with life at Headington
Emergency arrangements
It is essential that the School is able to contact Parents, Guardians or a nominated Emergency Contact in case of illness or injury. Parents are asked to provide emergency contact numbers and to inform the School immediately if there are any changes during the course of the school year.
Parents can view the contact details stored on the School’s information management system through the Parent Portal and should check that these are correct. You must notify the School of any changes throughout the year and there is a form in the portal to do this.
There may be occasions, for example, following a heavy snowfall or simply traffic problems, when parents of day girls are unable to collect their daughters as arranged. If this happens, please contact either: the School Reception (01865 759100) or the Sixth Form Office (01865 759158), who will make arrangements for your daughter to go to a boarding house until she can be collected. There is always a member of staff on duty in school until 6.00 pm. We will also use the school website to update parents.
