Enrichment Activities at Headington Rye Oxford
Enrichment: Headington Rye Oxford is an academic school with a true all round heart. Here we offer girls the chance to develop skills for life both inside and outside the classroom, ensuring they are ready to face the challenges of the world today and that of a future world we are yet to even imagine.
Life is about learning, but not just from a textbook. Through our extensive enrichment programme of over 120 activities a week, we develop the skills and ignite the passions and interests of women of the future. All girls in U3, L4 & U4 will take part in this programme as we firmly believe it is important to encourage them to step outside of their comfort zones, try something new and discover a new side of themselves. Skills in leadership, teamwork, debating, critical thinking, research and technical expertise, not to mention personal qualities such as determination, resolve, initiative and a sense of humour can all be developed through a myriad of activities. We endeavor to encompass and nurture the School's core values in each activity we offer. We also teach the girls how to relax and balance their busy lives, a skill essential for today’s world. So tread the boards, compose, sing, dance, complete, create, analyse and reflect; there is something here for everyone.
Many of our activities are free. For others, where specialist coaches and equipment are required, charges apply. Participation is voluntary for older girls but we encourage everyone to make the most of the opportunities on offer and find their new community within our school.
