The successful candidate will provide support to pupils and teachers both in and out of lessons, ensuring materials are prepared for practical lessons and that equipment and resources are properly supplied and maintained, to ensure the very best creative learning environment for the pupils.

Creative Arts at Headington

The Creative Arts Faculty is housed in our purpose built Creativity & Innovation Centre known as 'The Hive'. The facilities include digital manufacturing and digital media suites, a dedicated sixth form studio, a 3D workshop and studio, lens media studio, darkroom, seminar room, 150-seat lecture theatre, five specialist teaching studios for Art and Textiles and an additional large gallery space.

Teaching throughout Key Stage 3 is structured to allow every pupil to learn the basis of art and design during her first three years by studying drawing, painting, printmaking, textiles, sculpture, Creative Engineering and Design.

At GCSE pupils have a choice of studying the Eduqas Fine Art, Art Textiles, or 3D Design specifications, which enables them to develop their own personal responses through various media and to aim for some ambitious and varied outcomes at the conclusion of the course.

Three different courses are offered in the Sixth Form: Fine Art, Fashion Textile Design and Lens Based Media. Examination results are strong and many of the students exhibit impressive and sophisticated work at the end of the courses. The majority of our students gain A-A* grades.

Regular faculty trips are arranged to exhibitions in London, and throughout the past 10 years the department has run tours to Venice, Amsterdam, Florence, Berlin, and New York. Students regularly go on to study at leading art and design and architecture schools.
