PASTORAL
We are proud of our strong system of pastoral care at Headington Rye Oxford and believe it is key to the success of all students in the School. We recognise that girls will be fulfilled and thrive academically when they are happy in all aspects of their life.
Each individual pupil sits at the heart of our pastoral care structure, with a range of individual staff there to offer support, encouragement and guidance whenever it is needed, to celebrate the successes and achievements (however big or small) and to find a way through the challenges and ups and downs that are inevitably associated with navigating these teenage years.
We signpost clearly the range of staff available and the role they can play as the girls move through the School.
We know that our pupils can and do ask for advice on the things that trouble them. Together we can help the pupils to build a personal toolkit that enables them to become more resilient, emotionally-intelligent and future-ready.
We encourage the girls to talk to whoever they feel most comfortable with. As with all staff at Headington Rye Oxford, the Headmistress operates an ‘open door’ policy, so girls also have the chance to talk to her in confidence if they wish.
Our pastoral provision is based on building a partnership with you as parents – just as we encourage the girls to reach out to us when they need to talk we hope you will be in touch with us too.
