Headington Rye Oxford seeks to reward pupils of exceptional ability with scholarships and commendations at 11+, 13+ and 16+. Awards are available to both external and internal candidates and are offered in the following areas: Academic, Art, Dance, Drama, Music and Sport.
All scholarships continue throughout the scholar’s time at the School, provided the recipient remains enthusiastic and committed to the field in which they have been recognised, maintaining the standards of excellence against which the award is offered. It is considered a great achievement to be awarded a scholarship and scholars have the opportunity to take advantage of our highly-regarded enrichment and extension programmes to further develop them in their area of expertise.
While most of our scholarships do not carry a financial award, there are a number of special awards available to the highest achieving candidates at 11+, 13+ and 16+ that do. In addition, at 16+, special awards, worth 10 per cent of fees means-tested up to 100 per cent of tuition, are available in the following areas: Academic, Music, Sport, Rowing and Headmistress' Award.
All Music scholarships afford free tuition in a musical instrument of choice. All scholars are offered a place on the relevant scholarship programme for their chosen discipline, benefitting from the huge array of masterclasses, specialist coaching and mentoring in place.

U6 (Year 13) Graduation
Graduation is an annual celebration in July which parents of U6 (Year 13) leavers are warmly invited to attend. As well as being a lovely celebration of the end of their time at Headington Rye Oxford, it is also a chance for girls, scholars and others, to be recognised for all they have achieved.
Cups and Colours
At the end of each term we celebrate a hugely diverse range of achievements in our special Cups and Colours assembly. Girls are recognised in everything from Sport to Drama to Academic achievement, in school and external accomplishments. Cups are awarded for individual and group achievements of the term.
Sports Awards
At the beginning of each Summer Term, we hold a special ceremony to celebrate sporting achievement for all of our most exceptional young sportswomen. As well as crowning individual success and recognising all rounders, commitment to sport and most improved sportswomen in each year group, overall prizes for individuals and teams in the senior and junior age groups are also awarded.
