Headington Rye Oxford has given me so many opportunities that I never imagined. I have been able to try many different things and find out what I enjoy.

Exploring your creative side
Girls at Headington Rye Oxford are encouraged to develop creativity and innovation skills.
Through our rich co-curricular programme, your daughter will be given the opportunity to explore new things, discover life-long interests and develop her skills and confidence. Within the creative arts, she will be able to try her hand at a whole range of different artistic techniques and mediums. Alongside Art and Fine Art, we also offer Art Textiles both in the classroom and as a club. As girls progress through the School, there are also opportunities to try Photography, Fashion and Textiles as well as getting creative with simpler pursuits such as mindfulness colouring or origami. Our new Creativity & Innovation Centre: the Hive, opened in 2021, becoming the new home for Fine Art, Sculpture, Photography, History of Art and Fashion Textiles, as well as a hub for cross-curricular learning with a focus on sustainability, enterprise and technology. Girls studying Creative Engineering and Design will be able to make the most of our new 3D workshop, while those studying the creative arts can develop their skills in our spectacular studios, with high ceilings, huge windows and workspaces flooded with natural light. The Emma Watson Gallery, a double-height gallery at the heart of the Hive, will provide a stunning backdrop to girls’ work. We celebrate the incredible talents of our girls with an exhibition each year while artwork is on display throughout the year both in the Hive and around the site. For exceptional students, we offer an Art Scholarship programme.
