EXTRA-CURRICULAR

Teamwork, leadership and responsibility

Throughout your school career, you will have had opportunities to develop your leadership skills — as a team captain, a school council rep or leading any other kind of initiative. You will have learnt that an effective leader relies on having an excellent team.

In the Sixth Form at Headington Rye Oxford you are encouraged to throw yourself into all sorts of activities where you can develop your team skills and your leadership qualities. Perhaps you will mentor younger girls either academically or pastorally, or you will galvanise your peers in charity events.

Whatever it is that you are passionate about, take a lead and make a difference. Your passion and enthusiasm are what so enrich the School and what so impress university admissions tutors and future employers too.

Some of you will go on to represent and lead the School as part of the prefect and student leader teams but every sixth former’s loyalty, dedication and commitment are vital in securing an atmosphere in which all students, in all years, can flourish.

You will remember how much you admired, and were in awe of, senior girls when you were younger — now it is your turn to gain that admiration and respect
