Diplomas and Certificates at Headington Rye Oxford
BTEC National Diplomas
A Levels, while undoubtedly the most popular Level 3 qualifications, are not the only route through Sixth Form to university and the world of work.
There is a growing emphasis in independent schools on providing students with greater choice to suit individual interests. Over 100 schools in the sector offer BTEC qualifications as an alternative pathway in combination with an A Level qualification. The greater emphasis on applied knowledge and continuous assessment suits some students more than the model of terminal assessments that structures most A Level qualifications.
Headington Rye Oxford offers a BTEC Diploma course in Enterprise and Entrepreneurship, the equivalent of two full A Levels. You can combine this qualification with one further A Level subject.
BTECs are recognised nationally and internationally, and universities, including Russell Group universities, are familiar with BTECs and will make students offers based on BTECs in the same way that they make A Level-based offers.
