As the Sixth Form curriculum is challenging, we ask for a minimum entry requirement of at least a GCSE grade 7 in your chosen A Level subjects, or, for Sixth Form only subjects, a 7 in facilitating subjects. A list of these can be found here. Girls should achieve a minimum of three 7s (or equivalent). Current pupils should not worry about these entry grades, as the vast majority will make these with ease. We will always discuss individual cases and aim to work with you to devise a suitable Sixth Form programme of study.
You can choose the subjects that you would like to study from the extensive range of A Level subjects on offer. If you plan to follow the A Level programme, you are welcome to start with four A Level subjects rather than three, particularly if you are uncertain of what the best combination for you is.
The timetable will then be constructed around your choices. If you change your mind at a later date, it may be possible to change your subject choices provided the timetable can accommodate them. As your first year of Sixth Form study progresses, if you initially selected four A Levels, you may decide to drop one to focus on three subjects instead. We will be able to guide you in making that decision.
You may also be interested in combining an A Level choice with one of our alternative qualifications.
