THE SIXTH FORM CENTRE

Floorplan

Our Sixth Form Centre is the hub of Sixth Form life at Headington Rye Oxford. The Head of Sixth Form, the Heads of Year, Sixth Form Housemistresses and Sixth Form Administrator have their offices here and regular meetings and events, including outside speakers, add to the dynamic and inquisitive buzz about the place. The careers library is on hand for you to plan your next steps beyond Headington Rye Oxford. The Sixth Form Centre, with its numerous kitchen facilities and working and chill out areas, is also a place for you to relax, enjoy each other’s company and share and discuss your concerns and interests.

It's a vital study centre too — the quiet study rooms, provide you with a positive working environment in which to study effectively and efficiently. PCs are also available to you and should be used only for the purposes of work during lesson times (although all sixth formers should have their own device, a tablet or laptop, for school).

Lockers

Lockers are available in the Sixth Form Centre for all day girls. Mrs Palin allocates and oversees their provision.

The security and safeguarding of all of your possessions is your responsibility, so please take care of all valuables you bring into school, especially laptops and other devices.

Social events

A wide range of social events are held for sixth formers, both in the Sixth Form Centre itself and using the other school facilities. These include lectures, cooking workshops, film nights, curry and quiz evenings, university challenges with other schools, formals and networking opportunities.

Housekeeping

The success of our Sixth Form Centre relies upon all of us using it thoughtfully and respectfully. You must always tidy up after yourself, put any mugs, plates and cutlery that you use in the dishwasher and leave it tidy and clean. Each week, a tutor group will be responsible for ensuring that the centre is well cared for and is left tidy and clean at 4.00 pm.

All sixth formers will need their own reusable lunchbox for occasions when they wish to get a takeaway lunch from the dining hall.
