Headington Rye Oxford seeks to reward pupils of exceptional ability with scholarships at 16+. Awards are available to external and internal candidates in the following areas:

Once selected as scholars, students benefit from our highly-regarded enrichment and extension programme, allowing them to further develop their skills and talent in their area of expertise through mentoring, specialist coaching, masterclasses and workshops. Music Scholars are also awarded free tuition in an instrument of their choice. Scholarships are awarded for the duration of a student’s school career as long as the recipient remains enthusiastic and committed to the field in which they have been recognised. All external prospective scholars must pass the appropriate school entrance assessments and may then be selected as a scholar on the basis of their performance in the subsequent scholarship assessment. Students may be awarded more than one general scholarship award, if one of those awarded is Academic.
Whilst most of our scholarships do not carry a financial award, there are a number of Special Scholarship Awards available to the highest-achieving candidates at 16+ that do. These awards are a true mark of excellence and are awarded to truly exceptional individuals who demonstrate potential and commitment alongside high levels of achievement in their area of scholarship.
